The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually pressed up the rate of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
